The J. Geils Band circus is about to begin. J. Geils is suing the J. Geils Band.

Last month the J. Geils Band announced they had reformed without J. Geils. The J. Geils Band are about to tour the USA without their namesake John Geils.

This week John Geils filed a lawsuit against the members of the band Richard Salwitz, Danny Klein, Peter Wolf and Seth Justman claiming they 'planned and conspired' to exclude him from their tour.

The reformed J. Geils Band minus Geils will play 11 shows across America starting August 25.

John Geils claims they have taken his name and are denying him from using his own name in doing so.

The lawsuit will be heard in the Boston Superior Court.

Nick Jonas confirms Idol talks

Nick Jonas has confirmed he is in talks to join American Idol.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have both left their spots on the TV show, with Mariah Carey joining.

There has been much speculation about who might accompany her, with Nick named as one of the frontrunners. He has now spoken about the reports.

'The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol (sic),' he wrote on Twitter.

It's thought programme bosses want to make American Idol more appealing to a wider audience.

'[They] think [Nick] can help bring that younger demo to the show,' a source told Us Weekly.

It remains unknown if Randy Jackson will keep his place on the panel, with reports suggesting he will move from being a judge to a mentoring position.

Pharrell Williams is also thought to be in the running to join the show, with his contract negotiations said to be going well.

It's unknown what salary the two men will command. Mariah is rumoured to be receiving $18 million a year.
